Cool Mist Steam Curling Iron – An Innovation Every Woman Should Try

Steam curling irons are exactly like typical curling irons, but better! And it isn’t like stream hair curlers – a modern way to curl your hair. Instead of dry heat used in the barrel of the iron, however, steam curling irons use hydrating steam. Using a steam system in hot styling tools is not new as steam hair straighteners are well known for those who have super thick hair. But the great thing is, it combines moisture and hydration instead of drying the hair out. Moisture is put into the hair rather than evaporated out of it – isn’t that cool? This leaves hair feeling silky, soft and light. It’s perfect to grow healthy hair.  Just like with regular curling irons, hair is placed around the barrel of the iron, held in place to curl and then released. Unlike regular curling irons, however, steam curling irons can be used on either damp or dry hair, while regular curling irons are only to be used on dry hair. There’s no need to dry hair before using …

Can I Take My Hair Straightener In Carry-On Bag

I got a question about this matter a few days ago. It’s good to know if you have a trip and want to style your for your holiday destination. According to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) hair straighteners (flat irons) that are powered by a plug are allowed in both carry on bags and checked bags. Battery operated straighteners should be in carry on bags, they are not allowed in checked bags. Cordless hair straightener with a butane cartridge is only allowed in carry on bags. It should be stored in a case that prevents you from acidentally switching it on. And you can’t bring a spare cartridge.

Sulfate Free Shampoo Formulation

I did a reasearch on sulfate free shampoo, it’s quite interesting to figure out where these ingredients come from. If you have known these ingredients are good for you hair, it’s much easier to pick your products. Ingredients Lauryl Glucoside: Non-ionic surfactants, coconut oil derivatives Cocamidopropyl Betaine: amphoteric surfactant, according wikipedia, it is a derivative of coconut oil and dimethylaminopropylamine Sodium cocoyl glutamate: Widely used in shampoos, another coconut oil derivative PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate: while it gives a soft and smooth appearance for hair, it acts as a solubilizer. It is a product of coconut oil-derived fatty acids PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil: sobulizer, derivatives of castor oil To adjust the pH of shampoo, they use citric acid solution Lastly a thickener will be added to the mixture. A note that the ingredients I list in this post are INCI names, they are related to products from different companies and each company may develop their own fomulations to their customers.

What’s Hair Porosity

Our hair is porous and it can absord and preserve water – the hair’s capacity to do that is varied and related to our hair porosity which is low, high or medium. Once determined which level, you can easily pick right products for your hair. Determine your hair porosity would help choose the ideal products – shampoos, oils, conditioners, proteins and moisturizers. Using heat styling tools (hair straighteners, curling iron, hair dyers, etc.,) and hair products or undergoing color treatment can change your hair porosity for good for bad. And your hair porosity are varied – even in the same hair strand, if not the different parts of hair. That’s when one part dries quicker than others. How to determine your hair porosity – it’s quite easy but the measurement may not be reliable Before doing the test your hair must be clean and dry completely Method 1 – porosity varied on different parts of your hair Spray all over your hair with water (you have a spray bottle and  fill the water in the bottle) you …

Does Handheld Hair Steamer Really Work?

Handheld hair steamers such as Q-Redew recently popped up over social media, some Youtubers reviewed it for better or worse. Are these hair steamers really that bad or effective for the health of your hair? Less powerful than hooded hair steamers, so it may not give you that much benefits It takes 5 minutes to heat up the water for steam coming out, it doesn’t work consistantly. Small water chamber mean you have to refill the chamber in the middle of your conditioning sessions. Sometimes it gets loose. Going over your hair section using a handheld steamer is very time consuming, and you have to press and hold the button to keep steaming. Holding a bulky and heavy hair steamer is not comfortable What’s the alternative? Actually you can try ABYON ML-0019 Steamer for Clothes, if you have a healthy hair because this one is more powerful than Q-Redew – the steam has higher temperature and the flow of steam is on higher level than the latter. Apply the conditioner and spray the steam in the right way …

How To Clean A Hot Comb (Pressing Comb)

As thick, coarse requires intense heat from hot comb, which will burn hair products and your hair too. These product build up on the comb’s teeth and sometimes it’s impossible to remove it (then you would search for a new hot comb – I recommend a few sets) It’s not nice if your hot comb glides through your hair with buildup. For a good, clean press – you should clean your hot comb at least once a month. Hot comb can be simply cleaned by soap, brush and hot water if it doesn’t get dirty. But in case of your comb built up dirt heavily, you will need to clean by a mini wire brush, and prepare the cleaning agent – baking soda and vinegar. It would be a mixture of hot water with the agent. Put your hot comb into the mixture for about 30 minutes (or longer if later you still see a lot of black gunk sticking in between comb’s teeth). If you have a electric comb, don’t submerge the entire comb into the mixture as as …

5 Useful Tricks For Anyone Who Uses A Hot Comb

Hot combs (pressing comb) that are either electric or non-electric (that you heat it up over stove burner). They may cause hair loss, damage to the hair shaft, burn of the scalp, steal shine from your hair if you don’t use it a right way. I’ve rounded up a few tricks and tips. #1. If oil (burnt gunk) builds up on the teeth of hot comb you can clean it by an old tooth brush. #2. Frequently clean your hot comb – using hot comb can lead to hair loss. You will find the comb has a lot of hair on their teeth. As long as they are there the next styling session, they will cause hair breakage. I recommend cleaning your hot comb twice a month. You can clean it with hot water, dish soap and a brush (I prefer the metal brush – it’d be more effective to remove gunk) #3. If you are using a pressing comb that put into a stove (or a stove burner) for heating up. To check how hot …
